Since the the new site has gone live, one issue that has cropped up was how to access resources and how the new system works. As you know, the new Reading First Web site has an account based system. This changes the way that you access resources on the site.
Before we had one password for these different resources in the different areas of the site, but now access is controlled by your own account. This is good and bad. The bad part of this is that you must be logged in in order to access the resources because the system does not know who you are. If you try to access a resource without logging in you will get an access denied message. The system is only acting like it should. Unlike a newsletter, which has public access, we have limited the access of these documents to our coaches and facilitators.
They system will keep you logged in for 2 weeks if you use the same Web browser and the same computer, but you will need to log in again in order to access items that are restricted.
Since the system is new, we also new at describing or forecasting problems like these so as we all get used to the system we will prevent more confusion in the future.
You can always log in at:
http://www.mireadingfirst.org/user
Or you can always use the login box at the lower left hand side of the screen. If you still have problems you can contact the Webmaster using the contact form tab.
